Application of ThermaCote’s Roofing Tape

Remember to clean and wipe the surface before applying this tape for better adhesion, so ensure that it isn’t wet and there’s no loose oil or residue. Since our roofing tape is rigid and tough, tearing it by hand won’t work.

You’ll need a sharp object, such as a utility knife, to cut the sealant to fit the size and shape of your roof. After that, simply remove the ‘peel and stick’ paper, place it by hand, and use a roller to activate the adhesive on any surface irregularities. We have a special steel roller we use and advise to use on the tape to activate the adhesive. We also have a specialty Adhesion Promoting Primer when an added level of adhesion may be desired.

Remember, you can’t remove it without mechanical abrasion or harsh solvents. However, once you do take it off, expect it to leave a mark caused by the strong adhesive.
